Greg J. Grillo worked 33+ years in various Engineering, Operations and Customer Service leadership roles for a fortune 500 Electric and Gas Corporation. Roles were in the Corporation’s domestic operations in electric transmission, distribution and customer service, as well as gas operations, and international operations in London, England. Greg was also the Incident Commander for operations in New Orleans from 1999 - 2002, in Arkansas from 2002 – 2007 and the Corporations System Incident Commander for his last 6 years prior to retiring, where he led the company through the restoration following hurricanes and various other events including ice storms, floods and tornadoes. 

 In his role as the System Storm Incident Commander, he was responsible for the Corporations emergency operations plan, developing and facilitating their annual storm exercises.  Greg not only facilitated the development of the annual exercises, but was also responsible as the lead controller and facilitator of the annual exercises and for conducting the after-action sessions.

Greg was selected to participate in the development and exercise of a National Response effort following the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.  In 2013, he co-led the development and facilitated the first table top exercise (TTX) of the newly developed and approved National Response Event (NRE) process.  Later that year he co-led the development and facilitated the functional exercise (FE) of the NRE.  He then led the development and facilitated the NRE TTX and FE in 2014 and 2015.  Greg also developed the after-action reports following those exercises and facilitated monthly National Response Executive Committee conference calls to ensure the after-action items were being completed. 

In 2016, Greg was honored with being the NRE chair, where he was responsible for leading the overall NRE process. Prior to his retirement in March 2017, he led the development and facilitated the 2017 NRE TTX in Washington DC, where it was attended by industry, governmental and individuals from the private sector. 

Since establishing IP&R Solutions, LLC,  EEI contracted Greg to develop and facilitate the 2017 FE and the TTX and FE in 2018 through 2024. Greg facilitated the after-action sessions and developed the after-action/improvement plans for these exercises.

Greg has also participated as an evaluator for several electric company’s annual TTX and FE since retiring in 2017.

In 2020, IP&R Solutions, LLC was contracted by the electric and communications sectors to facilitate the identification and implementation of opportunities needed to enhance communication and coordination between the sectors before, during and after an incident.
